Baptism

Due to Covid-19 protocols, there are currently no Baptism preparation classes scheduled and all baptisms are arranged on an individual basis.

If you would like your child Baptized, please email: office@holyfamilyregina.com to begin the registration process.

If you are not registered at Holy Family Parish, you may register your family when you contact us. If you are a member of another parish, you must obtain permission from your parish priest to receive Sacraments and/or preparation at Holy Family Parish.

Birth Certificates: The birth certificate is required to verify spelling of names, and date and place of birth as it will appear on the Baptismal Certificate and in parish records. The certificate may be brought to the office or emailed.

Godparents: Only one godparent is required for the candidate being Baptized. This person must:

  • be age 16 or older;
  • be a Confirmed Catholic receiving the sacrament of the Eucharist;
  • if married, said marriage is recognized and recorded by the Catholic Church;
  • lead a life of faith in keeping with the function to be taken on;
  • not be the father or mother of the one to be Baptized.

There is to be only one male sponsor (godfather), or one female sponsor (godmother), or one of each.

In order to show eligibility of a godparent, please contact the parish of Baptism to request an updated certificate of Baptism with notations.  Most parishes are able to send this document electronically, directly to Holy Family Parish at office@holyfamilyregina.com.
